Hands On Nashville Offers a Helping Hand to the Community
Hands on Nashville empowers residents to give back through meaningful opportunities.

If you have a passion and time, Hands On Nashville can facilitate opportunities that can enrich your life and help you grow personally.
The nonprofit’s mission is to help meet community needs through volunteerism.
The organization’s programs connect volunteers to opportunities supporting 200-plus nonprofits, schools and other civic groups. Hands On Nashville and its network of volunteers rise to the occasion.
“From direct disaster response to helping nonprofits solve their tech-based challenges, we and our partners offer a plethora of opportunities for community members to get involved,” says A.T. Branch, volunteer engagement leader. “Hundreds of volunteer opportunities supporting tons of local organizations can be found on our website at hon.org.”
According to Branch, there’s a role for anyone with a willing spirit. There’s no shortage of that mentality in the Nashville Region. Despite recent tough times, he says residents have stepped up in ways that many might not have imagined. Specifically, he cites natural disasters and tragedies as catalysts for action.
“Even beyond disasters, several thousand volunteers sign up each year to help meet community needs through volunteer service,” he says.
On that note, he invites newer residents to join the ranks of their volunteer cohort. The benefits include learning more about the region while networking, making new friends, learning new skills and reducing stress.
“It is such an easy way to get connected AND feel a sense of accomplishment while doing so,” he says.
