If you’re reading this, I think I might know your situation — you’re a little concerned about the sleeping accommodations for a trip you’ve booked because you either want to or need to take your pet with you.

This can be a real stressor for pet owners because not everybody can afford a pet sitter or kennel service for their four-legged family members while away. Or maybe you just want to bring your furry friend along for a life-giving experience you know they’ll love.

Either way, they’re coming with you, and you’d rather not stay in a stinky motel that reeks of litter and is dusted in dander just because it’s the only one you could find that allows animals. That’s where we come in.

This list of hotels across the country are as stylish as they are pet-friendly. We’ve narrowed it down to the best of the best in major cities that you and your pet are sure to love…

Hotel Magdalena

Austin TX
Hotel Magdalena is newer on the block but is sure to surpass your expectations. This place is stunning. Mid-century modern meets southwestern chic. It’s so fashionable they even sell home and clothing accessories that are sure to add some class to your own abode. Set in the heart of Austin’s South Congress Avenue on the iconic Music Lane, there is no shortage of things to do during your stay: the best food, the best shopping, the best hangs. And when you’re spent for the day, you have a luxurious spot waiting for you in Hotel Magdalena.

Oh, and a big bonus here: It’s not just certain rooms that are pet-friendly. It’s every room. Yes, you read that right — every single stylish room. The hotel provides all of the amenities necessary for pet owners, and dogs are allowed in designated areas, including an on-site dog park.

Hillbrook Inn

Charles Town, WV
This place is straight out of a Colonial romance novel. Rolling hills, mossy oaks…there’s even a babbling brook. Hillbrook Inn is not only a gorgeous place for sleeping, it’s also a top-notch spa. Do you want to look and feel your best before visiting the quaint antique shop down the road in Harper’s Ferry? You can do so at the Hillbrook Spa. Then, when you return with your treasures, you can walk the expansive grounds with your pet, watch them chase birds and contemplate their existence while they stare into the waters of the stream that flows through the middle of the grounds.

Four of the 19 dreamy rooms are pet friendly, and the staff colloquially call them the four seasons — the Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter Rooms. A favorite spot for four-legged friends is the two on-site ponds, and the inn will even provide guests with extra towels if their pup wants to test the water. Be sure to book your stay at this Charles Town spot in advance so you don’t miss out on one of these pet-welcoming spots!

Grey Squirrel Resort

Big Bear Lake, CA
Maybe you’re looking for something a little more rustic, though. Maybe you want, or need, to be just a little closer to nature, someplace you won’t mind dragging in some dust from a morning hike, someplace you can listen to the critters and lapping lake waters from your porch and read Little House on the Prairie while your dog or cat or ferret (no judgment here!) cuddles up on your lap. Maybe Grey Squirrel Resort is where you should go.

Located in the heart of Big Bear in the gorgeous San Bernardino region, these casual cabins let you live your woodsy dreams without sacrificing comfort. TVs and fireplaces, proximity to trails and nature centers, heated pools and WiFi, lake activities and hearty dining are just around the corner. And all without having to leave your pet behind. It’s a win-win-win.

Saranac Waterfront Lodge

Saranac Lake, NY
Upstate New York is known for its scenic beauty, and Saranac Lake should be somewhere on the top of that list of most beautiful spots. Nestled in the middle of the Adirondacks, Saranac Lake is small without skimping on lots of character. It’s quaint and idyllic. It’s a little out of the way, but it’s a destination. And Saranac Waterfront Lodge is the place to stay when you’ve made it here.

Overlooking Saranac Lake, the Lodge is a focal point of the town. It’s rare for a big building to add beauty to someplace so naturally stunning, but the Waterfront Lodge seems to do just that. And what’s even better than its looks are its amenities — a pub and private dining room make for two unique dining experiences without leaving the perimeter. An indoor pool, hot tub, and gym help you get your self-care on, no matter the weather.

Each reservation for a furry friend includes a dog bed and food/water bowls to use during the stay, a dog treat and a toy! Not only is this sweet spot pet-friendly, but for each dog that stays, Saranac Waterfront Lodge donates $40 to the Tri-Lakes Humane Center, a no-kill shelter in Saranac Lake.

Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel

Omaha, NE
One might not think firstly of escapism or luxury when they think of Omaha, Nebraska, but Kimpton’s Cottonwood Hotel is here to make you think again.

This hotel, built in the shell of a hundred-year-old redbrick building, has all the basic amenities you would expect — WiFi, a pool, a gym, a hot tub, room service, food and, of course, it’s pet friendly. But it’s the little things that Kimpton does that make it so wonderful. The pool is not just clean; it’s scenic. The food isn’t limited to a continental breakfast starting at dawn and ending just as your alarm goes off. You can visit the Committee Chophouse, a steakhouse, or the Orleans Room, a French restaurant, both on-site. Plus, there’s the Cottonwood Room, a classy lounge that’ll make you feel like you’ve stepped into a bygone era. You might need to pack your pet’s bowtie.

The best part of Kimpton Hotels? They are incredibly pet-friendly! Pets of any size are welcome for no additional fee. Both dogs and cats are allowed. Dog beds, bowls, treats and waste bags are provided to guests to make their stay even more special.

Innisbrook Resort

Palm Harbor, FL
The Innisbrook Resort is a quintessential big Florida resort hotel. Whatever just came to mind is probably accurate. Big pool, a nice spa and sunny skies. But maybe you didn’t imagine a destination golf course or perhaps tennis courts. If you forgot to picture in your mind fine dining as well as over 850 acres of land for you and your pet to explore, then you’d better start because that’s what awaits you at Innisbrook.

Even Palm Harbor locals visit the resort often to take advantage of the hospitality, expansive land and A+ amenities you just can’t get at home. So, if you’re looking for a relaxing time that isn’t as crowded as Orlando, or if Miami isn’t quite your scene, then Innisbrook might be perfect for you and your favorite furry family member. Before you visit, know that Innisbrook offers limited availability for pet-friendly accommodations.

Coast Cabins

Manzanita, OR
While the Coast Cabins isn’t a traditional hotel or inn, they are the perfect place to rest your head while exploring Oregon’s majestic coast. A mixture of cabins and lofts that are clustered together, this Manzanita-based spot is ideal for those looking for a little more R in their R n’ R. Which one you choose is up to you.

Sitting less than half a mile from the Pacific, Coat Cabins doesn’t fuss with anything flashy or extravagant. It doesn’t need to. For example, complimentary wine from local vineyards is served when you check-in. And when you finally get to your cabin, you’ll be greeted with complimentary fruit, chocolate, and a s’mores kit. Wine and s’mores, and you’re not even unpacked yet. Certain upgraded units can accommodate wood-burning stoves and whirlpool tubs for the ultimate cozy experience.

And, solidifying its place on our list, it’s pet-friendly. Furry friends will be pampered with a bed, towel and dishes to use during their stay, and close access to the beach will keep them happy!

Inn by the Sea

Cape Elizabeth, ME
There are many coastal spots on our list today, and Inn by the Sea is, as you’ve probably guessed, no exception. If you’ve ever seen a Nancy Meyers film, you’ve already glimpsed at what Inn by the Sea holds. It’s the kind of place where you wear nothing but billowy white linen, and you’re either in a pair of sandals or barefoot 100% of the time. Hugged by flowers and crisp, salty air, this inn has fresh seafood at its fine dining restaurant, a spa and seasonal activities for both kids and adults, so there’s always something to do if you’re just itching for more to add to your one-line-a-day journal.

This Maine spot is perfect for families, singles and pet parents who want to let their fluffy friend run across the sandy beaches like a scene from a Hallmark movie. Inn by the Sea is one of Maine’s first luxury pet resorts and has welcomed man’s best friend for over two decades. Complimentary accommodations include water bowls, beach towels, blankets and a signature treat at turndown. Even better? Gourmet doggie dinners are available with advanced notice. If that wasn’t enough, the Inn by the Sea has collaborated with the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland for years to provide temporary shelter at the Inn and, to date, more than 150 dogs have been adopted.

Wolf Cove Inn

Poland, ME
Wolf Cove Inn may not be coastal, but it is still waterfront. Located along the shores of picturesque Tripp Pond, Wolf Cove perfectly balances high-class and unfussy rustic atmosphere. You and your pet can be truly comfortable in a place like Wolf Cove. Amenities include complimentary s’mores for the fire pit, canoes and kayaks and a complimentary 3-course breakfast. Yes, you read that correctly — a 3-course breakfast! And although it may sit on the slightly pricier side of the spots on this list, Wolf Cove makes sure to earn every dollar. With hundreds of excellent reviews and gorgeous grounds, it’s a treat-yourself kind of spot that you and your pet won’t regret going in for. The Inn offers four designated pet-friendly accommodations and amenities for your four-legged friend, including plenty of outdoor space for on-leash play and a designated doggy dining deck.
