The Rone Home: A Scenic Sanctuary Minutes From Downtown Casper, WY

From lodges with world-class trout fishing to hotels in the thick of the action, Casper has all types of places to stay. But there’s nothing quite like The Rone Home. This spacious retreat offers the perfect balance of convenience and calm – located just 10 minutes from Casper but tucked away in a quiet location. 

After the Rone family acquired the estate in 2021, they soon began to envision something more than a private residence. 

“We wanted it to be part of the community, so our family decided to turn it into an elite B&B,” Lish Rone says. 

The stately property exudes a European flair, but it’s designed with Casper in mind. “It has a very Wyoming feel. Walking in, you see the state seal in the floor tilework. The banquet space has a mural of the Tetons.” 

Outside, alpine ridges and rolling hills frame the estate’s backdrop. A stocked pond is where guests fish and kayak, and there’s also a waterfall, playground and putting green. “Casper Mountain is reflected in the pond. It’s very iconic,” Rone says. 

E-bikes are available for exploring nearby trails. “We also have partnerships with the country club for golfing and a local fly shop for fishing,” Rone adds. 

There are four guest rooms in the mansion and five in the guesthouse as well as a dining area, office and meeting space, and a conservatory. There’s plenty of room for corporate retreats and large family gatherings. 

“Our goal is to serve anyone coming through town who wants a unique place to stay,” Rone says. “Plus, we provide an amazing cook-to-order breakfast!”
