Nicknamed “Carpet Capital of the World,” Dalton is home to 150 carpet and floor covering plants that employ about 30,000 people. This northwest Georgia city is in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and its Creative Arts Guild is the oldest community arts center in the state. Higher education choices include Dalton State College and Georgia Northwestern Technical College, and Interstate 75 is a key transportation asset. Hamilton Medical Center is a highly regarded hospital in Dalton.
