Get outside and enjoy the fresh air with these five outdoor recreation experiences in Greenville.
1. Sightsee From the Bridge
Greenville has several beautiful and accessible natural attractions, and one of the most popular is Falls Park on the Reedy River. The downtown Falls Park features the Liberty Bridge pedestrian suspension bridge that overlooks the Reedy River and provides an ideal view of the Greenville skyline and the gorgeous Reedy River Falls below.
2. Make a Big Splash
Head to Simpsonville to enjoy an afternoon of family fun at Discovery Island Waterpark, which has highlights like a 270-foot tube slide and a body slide from the top of a 25-foot-high tower. The Greenville County attraction also features a lazy river, kiddie pool and a wave pool for surfing and boogie boarding.
3. Party Along Main Street
Main Street in downtown Greenville is pedestrian friendly and lined with boutiques, coffee shops, galleries, restaurants and hotels. The district also hosts a variety of annual events. Two of the most popular are an Artisphere juried arts festival and a Euphoria culinary celebration. Be sure to visit TD Saturday Market from 8 a.m. to noon between May and October. The market is located on Main Street at McBee Avenue.
4. Don’t Miss a Beat
Lining the banks of the Reedy River is the Peace Center, which hosts outdoor summer concerts from June to September at its TD Stage amphitheater. Performers in 2021 included St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Edwin McCain, Shovels & Rope and Yonder Mountain String Band.
5. Bring Your Mitts, Kids
Modeled after Boston’s famed Fenway Park, Fluor Field at the West End is home to the Greenville Drive, the High-A affiliate of the Red Sox. The 5,700-seat, family friendly park hosts Drive baseball games from May through September.
