Our Insider’s Guide to the Girl Scouts infographic presents key statistics and information about this American institution. We used information provided by the Girl Scouts of the USA, including their 2013 Annual Report to build the graphic. Designer Sara Reitenbach created this infographic for us.

Take a look and you’ll find interesting facts and data, like which cookies are the top sellers, who set the new cookie sales record, which states have the most girl scouts and which companies have provided financial support to the Girl Scouts. This infographic gives you a glimpse into just how big the Girl Scouts are and how many women have participated in the organization. Membership in Girl Scouts is open to girls in grades K-12, and both women and men (over 18) can join as adult members.

All members must:

  • Share the Girl Scout Promise and Law
  • Pay national dues of $15
  • Follow safety guidelines

Girl Scout divisions:

  • Daisy – grades K-1
  • Brownie – grades 2-3
  • Junior – grades 4-5
  • Cadette – grades 6-8
  • Senior – grades 9-10
  • Ambassador – grades 11-12
