#6. St. Louis MO
Known as the gateway to the west, St. Louis was named one of Livability’s Top 100 Best Places to Live in 2019, and that accolade extends to van living! This perfect jumping-off point offers more than just a great central location. The urban core is ringed by box stores and campsites for overnights, plus Planet Fitness where you can stay fresh. There is no shortage of local coffee shops, and Comet Coffee carries global options, provides the requisite internet and electricity, and boasts a dog-friendly patio area.
The St. Louis library is a stand out, with over a dozen branches to choose from, as well as a historic main library which was designed by Cass Gilbert (you’ll want to take the free tour). Fill downtime at the arch or the one of a kind City Museum, and don’t forget to stuff your face with some of the country’s best BBQ.
