Meet Marshalltown Community College

A key provider of talent to the region’s employers is Marshalltown Community College (MCC), which offers more than 50 diploma and degree options. MCC has its main campus situated just south of Marshalltown along Highway 30, and a second campus, Iowa Valley Grinnell, is located 30 miles south of Marshalltown in Grinnell.
Total enrollment at MCC is now more than 2,000 students, and the student-faculty ratio is 13:1. Career and degree programs at MCC are in areas such as agriculture, the arts, business, computer science, criminal justice, dental assisting, engineering, health care, manufacturing and more.
Established in 1927, MCC is unlike many community colleges in the nation because it offers on-campus housing for students. A total of three building units features 39 suite apartments that can house 156 students, with each apartment equipped with two bedrooms, a living room and a kitchenette.

The college’s sports teams, the Tigers, compete in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference. Men’s sports are baseball, basketball and soccer, while women’s sports are basketball, softball and volleyball.
MCC has been named a Military Friendly School, providing postsecondary education for veterans, and MCC was also named the No. 2 medical assisting program in Iowa for 2021.
