Planning a trip to South Carolina, or considering moving to the state? Instead of staying in a hotel, consider renting an Airbnb in the city you’re most interested in to get a real feel for the neighborhood and community. While there are plenty of Airbnbs in the Palmetto State, we’ve identified the best of the best in the following cities:

1. Georgetown

This three-bedroom home, located in Georgetown’s historic district, can accommodate as many as six guests. Recently renovated, this listing is surrounded by lush greenery, and has a full kitchen with high-end appliances, spacious rooms, a large backyard with plenty of privacy. Guests can walk to local attractions, and the home is just 15 minutes from the beach.

2. Beaufort

Originally built in 1889, this restored historic cottage in Beaufort features two bedrooms, updated appliances and fixtures, a full kitchen, two porches and dedicated off-street parking. The home, which has been renovated by an interior designer, is located in the heart of Beaufort’s historic district, and guests have a quick, five-block walk to restaurants, shops, parks and other fun things to do.

3. Charleston

This serene, two-bedroom apartment in Downtown Charleston’s French Quarter features tall ceilings, heart pine floors, a fully-equipped kitchen and a balcony that’s perfect for enjoying morning coffee or an evening glass of wine.
