There are so many benefits to shopping locally, like connecting with your community, finding quality products and boosting the economy. Maury County is full of great places offering phenomenal goods, services and more. Here’s what you need to know if you are looking for: 

1. An Overnight Stay

Say goodbye to chain hotels and try something unique. The Blythewood Inn Bed & Breakfast is the period-inspired getaway you didn’t know you needed. An elegant Victorian mansion with eight luxury suites, this place will transport you back in time. If you want to stay closer to the hustle and bustle, check out the “All I Have to Do is Dream” loft-style unit located in downtown Columbia. It’s modern, and features a private rooftop patio. 

2. A Glass of Wine

Amber Falls Winery & Cellars is invitingly situated in the scenic countryside, and its award-winning wines encompass a wide spectrum, from dry reds to fruit wines. Grinder’s Switch Winery in Columbia is also very appealing, with a cozy tasting lounge and outdoor patio that’s the perfect setting for enjoying wines from the award-winning vineyard located in Centerville.

Immerse yourself in the thrill of the hunt while shopping for hidden gems in secondhand stores. For clothes, you can’t go wrong with Wear It Well Consignment, a women’s boutique in Columbia with a curated selection. For clothes and beyond, Thrift Love in Columbia is a great nonprofit store that supports special needs employment and sells clothes, home goods and more. Finally, if you’re looking for something funky, eclectic and truly one-of-a-kind, you have to check out Columbia’s Steely’s Corner, where plenty of great vintage treasures are yours for the perusing. 

4. A New Book

It’s more important than ever to visit local, independent bookshops. Columbia’s Duck River Books is everything you could ask for: warm, inviting, cozy and welcoming. The shop sells new and used books and it highlights local authors. And with a gorgeous spiral staircase and twinkle-light-lit kids’ section, Duck River Books really does feel like the quintessential place you could spend hours in.

Don’t let the name fool you – Nashville Tea Co. is a local business. This is a tea house you can go to dine in or you can purchase custom-blend loose-leaf teas to take home. The atmosphere is calm, and it’s a lovely place to sit, sip and stay for a little while.
