Where is Maury County? 

Located along the I-65 corridor, you can travel from Music City to Maury County in just under an hour. First, you’ll arrive at the bustling suburb of Spring Hill. Then, the county seat of Columbia and historic Mount Pleasant are just 30 or so minutes further south. If you favor a more rural setting, make your way to scenic hamlets like Hampshire, Santa Fe, Williamsport and Culleoka. In Maury County, you’ll find the beauty of green pastures and the Duck River, along with charming, walkable town centers and friendly folk on every corner. 

What are the key industries in Maury County? 

Manufacturing has been the cornerstone with businesses like Columbia Machine Works, Columbia Neon and Smelter Service Corp. After Saturn brought automobile manufacturing to Spring Hill in 1990, the industry’s biggest names continue to rely on the area’s experienced workforce, including General Motors and Fuel Total Systems. Columbia State Community College (CSCC) prepares students for careers in areas like health care, computer science and engineering. CSCC accepts the TN Promise scholarship, providing free tuition and fees to qualified applicants. The school is also partnering in a new endeavor with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology. Together, they are building the Southern Regional Technology Center on the Columbia campus to serve as a hub for the latest industry and health care education.
