Is there anything more magical than a tree with all of the trimmings? What if you could select your own? Whether you want to find the perfect living room centerpiece at a Christmas tree farm or are looking to do it for the ‘gram, these nine places are great spots to pick out your perfect tree. 

1. Beavers Christmas Tree Farm

Trafford, Alabama
If you’ve never been to Beavers Christmas Tree Farm in Trafford, Alabama, you’re in for a treat this holiday season. They have a large selection of choose-and-cut trees like Virginia Pines, White Pines, Carolina Sapphire, Blue Ice and more. You can even pick up a 15-gallon “Living Christmas Tree” to plant in your yard after the holidays.

2. Allen Hill Farm

Brooklyn, Connecticut
Allen Hill Farm occupies 350 acres along the Quinebaug River and has long been a favorite destination for Christmas tree cutting. A whopping 100 acres on the Connecticut property are dedicated to growing trees, which means you’re guaranteed to find one you love.

3. Helemano Farms

Oahu, Hawaii
Did you know there are thriving Christmas tree farms on OahuHelemano Farms sells beautiful Norfolk Christmas trees and wreaths for those hoping to deck their home while supporting local agriculture. You can take your pick between chosen and precut trees.

4. The Rocks Estate

Bethlehem, New Hampshire
This 1,400-acre property is a special place to pick out a Christmas tree. But it’s also part of the North Country Conservation and Education Center for the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests. There are self-guided tours and programs at The Rocks Estate all year round, but picking out a Christmas tree in winter is particularly magical.

5. Pine Lake Christmas Trees

Derby, Kansas
Families have trekked to Pine Lake Farm to pick out the perfect Christmas tree for quite some time. They have a beautiful property with two lakes, idyllic rolling hills and a variety of trees to choose from. They also offer hayrides, visits with Santa and warm mugs of hot chocolate and coffee to make your holidays even merrier.

6. Balsam Ridge

Raymond, Maine
The Christmas trees at Balsam Ridge come in all shapes and sizes. Species include Balsam Fir, Fraser Fir and Balsam/Fraser hybrids. Pro Tip: If you plan on bringing little children, make sure to arrive on a Saturday when Santa is visiting too.

7. Butterfly Farm

Lincoln, Rhode Island
Around 50 acres of Christmas trees grow on Butterfly Farm in Lincoln, Rhode Island. Countless species are available for picking, including Douglas Fir, Fraser Fir, Korean Fir, Blue Spruce and White Spruce. The best part is that once you pick out the tree of your dreams, the team at Butterfly Farm will help you cut it down.

8. Shamrock Christmas Tree Farm

Mattituck, New York
Christmas in New York almost requires you to visit a Christmas tree farm, don’t you think? There’s no better place to go than Shamrock Christmas Tree Farm in Mattituck. They have everything from towering Douglas firs to charming potted trees, which means there’s something for everyone.

9. Buttonwood Farm U-Cut Christmas Trees

Redmond, Washington
Did you know that Buttonwood Farm is the only 100% organic and locally grown Christmas tree farm near the Seattle area? Those are some big boasting rights, but this popular farm is a real crowd-pleaser. In addition to tree stands and a diverse assortment of tree species, you can also take advantage of their white-glove delivery service if you want to make things super simple this year.
