#1. Asheville NC
No list of craft beer cities in the U.S. would be complete without Asheville, NC. Home to 26 breweries (an impressive number for a population of just over 90,000), Asheville’s craft beer culture is booming. It all started with Highland Brewing Company, Asheville’s first craft brewery, back in 1994. Since then, the city has gained dozens of craft and microbreweries, including Wicked Weed Brewing, Hi-Wire Brewing, Burial Brewing and even a few big names like Sierra Nevada and New Belgium Brewing.
In addition to its many breweries, the city offers several annual beer festivals, brewery tours, an ail trail, tastings and more, making it one of the best places to live. Some even believe that it’s the pH level of the water in Asheville that makes the city so ideal for brewing. Whatever the reason, there’s no denying that Asheville’s beer scene won’t be slowing down anytime soon.
