Nampa, Idaho, is a pretty special place, as anyone who has visited or lived here can tell you. You’ll find many reasons to love the Treasure Valley, but if you want a truly authentic experience, here’s a short list of top things to do in Nampa, ID.

1. The Snake River Stampede Rodeo

The Snake River Stampede Rodeo holds the honor of being one of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association’s top 10 regular rodeos. The event has been a staple statewide and nationally since 1937, with a particular surge in popularity in the 1970s and 1980s. Over the years, the event has drawn spectators, cowboys and even big-name entertainers like Reba McEntire. Today, the Snake River Stampede exclusively focuses on rodeo events like barrel racing, team roping, and of course, bull riding. Experience the exhilarating energy of this event for yourself at the Ford Idaho Center — it’s hands-down one of the top things to do in Nampa, ID!

2. The Sunnyslope Wine Trail

Idaho wine country is something beautiful to behold, and the Sunnyslope region is home to 19 different wineries, which you can visit by following the Sunnyslope Wine Trial. The trail trickles up from the outskirts of Nampa and can be followed via the map at sunnyslopewinetrail.com. (Pro tip: You can also order a “wine passport” that will unlock exclusive discounts at each winery you visit!) There are so many incredible establishmentsto explore, and a fantastic variety of wines to sample, all while enjoying picturesque views of the region.

3. Celebration Park

This treasure trove of historical goodies claims the title of being Idaho’s only archaeological park. Celebration Park contains observable history that documents ancient life,

like petroglyphs (rock carvings and drawings), as well as more recent history, showcasing relics from the region’s railroad and mining industry. Besides the learning that occurs here, the park is also overflowing with natural beauty, making it a great place to visit and enjoy being outdoors.

4. Two Scenic Byways

Idaho is known for its stunning scenic byways — roads that offer visual appeal — and officially boasts 31 scenic byways throughout the state. Nampa alone contains two of these byways: the Western Heritage Historic Byway and the Snake River Canyon Scenic Byway. The former offers stunning panoramic views, while the latter meanders through the region’s wine country. Both are ideal backdrops for a leisurely drive or day trip escape and must be experienced firsthand to truly grasp how magnificent they are.
