There are numerous care options for Overland Park residents, from specialty rehabilitation hospitals to a large children’s hospital. Here are a few facilities you should know about. 

AdventHealth Shawnee Mission & South Overland Park

With 504 beds at its Shawnee Mission campus and 85 beds at its South Overland Park campus in the mixed-use Bluhawk development, AdventHealth covers the region, focusing on whole-person care. U.S. News & World Report named Shawnee Mission a 2025 High-Performing hospital for Maternity Care, while South Overland Park was named one of the 35 Top General Hospitals by The Leapfrog Group in 2023. 

Children’s Mercy Hospital Kansas

The only freestanding pediatric hospital in the state, Children’s Mercy Hospital Kansas offers 52 beds, more than 30 pediatric specialty clinics, a surgery center and an emergency department. It also features a Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, one of only a dozen such pediatric-focused centers in the U.S. 

Johnson County Rehabilitation Hospital 

Johnson County Rehabilitation Hospital is an 80-bed rehabilitation hospital offering state-of-the-art individualized personal and rehabilitative services in hotel-like comfort. It was awarded Hospital of the Year by Nobis Rehabilitation.

Menorah Medical Center

Part of HCA Midwest Health, Menorah Medical Center is a 190-bed acute-care hospital recognized by U.S. News & World Report as high-performing in five adult procedures and conditions. It is also a network-accredited cancer program through the Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute and is the only hospital in Johnson County to offer Mammosite®, an advanced technology for breast cancer. 

MidAmerica Rehabilitation Hospital 

Open 24 hours a day, MidAmerica Rehabilitation Hospital has 98 beds to serve patients. The hospital has earned a Disease-Specific Care Certification from The Joint Commission in five areas: stroke, brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord and amputee. 

Overland Park Regional Medical Center

Part of HCA Midwest Health, Overland Park Regional Medical Center is a 343-bed hospital and a designated Level II trauma center. It has the region’s only Maternal Fetal Health Center, specializing in complex pregnancies and fetal care, and features advanced cardiology services and a pediatric ER. 

Rehabilitation Hospital of Overland Park

As part of the PAM Health network, Rehabilitation Hospital of Overland Park offers inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services for patients recovering from acute injuries and illnesses. It has 45 private patient rooms and access to the latest rehabilitation technology. 

Saint Luke’s South Hospital

With 171 beds, Saint Luke’s South Hospital is part of the combined BJC and Saint Luke’s single integrated health care organization serving Missouri, southern Illinois and eastern Kansas. Saint Luke’s South is a comprehensive medical center that houses Saint Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute and Goppert Breast Center. It has held a five-star rating by the Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services for eight years. 

The University of Kansas Health System

The University of Kansas Health System’s Indian Creek campus in Overland Park features 34 private patient rooms and eight operating rooms. In addition to inpatient services, the Indian Creek location houses outpatient specialty services and The Women’s Cancer Center. Additional services can be accessed at facilities throughout the region, including the University of Kansas Cancer Center.
