Where to Find Flexible Office Space in Williamson County, TN
Drop by most coffee shops and you are likely to see nearly as many laptops as lattes. Professionals hunched over the keyboard, toiling away in a noisy and busy setting. This type of makeshift office space might suffice for a freelancer, but for startup companies or solo workers who need quieter surroundings, jobs and java might not be the best combination. It may be time to consider a coworking, flex or shared office space in Williamson County.
Great Options for Office Space in Williamson County
Fortunately, Williamson County provides plenty of options for pros who need a more traditional working space but are not ready to commit to a full office.
“There is a need for coworking space, flex space and shared office space, especially for most startups and a lot of small businesses that are doing well but can’t yet afford to move into a dedicated office,” says Nick Biniker, vice president of entrepreneurship and small business development at Williamson, Inc.
Williamson, Inc. began offering such a place in 2021 with the opening of the Franklin Innovation Center, which is located in a historic mansion. The Heritage Foundation of Williamson County teamed up with Williamson, Inc. to transform the building into an entrepreneurial center.
The facility offers six office suites, each with room for up to six people. One suite is a shared coworking space for individuals, while the others are geared toward startups. Tenants have access to a conference room, a kitchen and an outdoor seating/work area.
“Everybody who comes in already has a business going in some capacity,” Biniker says. “Our goal is to scale them out of the space within one to three years. For startups, the great thing about coworking spaces is being around other folks who are doing similar things and having conversations that lead to innovation. We want to bring together new faces, with the goal of generating new ideas.”
Other Places With Other Spaces
Harbor + Union, Franklin: Located in an 11-building entertainment complex called The Factory at Franklin, the 27,000-square-foot Harbor + Union business accelerator has more than 30 private offices, five conference rooms and a large event space.
The facility also offers services such as business coaching and the ability for a company to bring in a temporary CFO, HR official, payroll rep, etc.
“We want to help businesses grow,” says Eric Richter, Harbor + Union director of operations. “We believe that work is the greatest vessel for human impact, whether it’s your job or a cause that you have. That’s the way we make an impact in the world. We want a space to enhance and help people with that.”
HUB Workspace, Franklin: Whether looking for an office or just a desk, HUB Workspace in Franklin’s Westhaven neighborhood has various options for budding entrepreneurs. The HUB’s stated objective is to provide a coworking space “where people from different backgrounds can come together to share ideas, learn from each other and build relationships.”
The Sapphire Suite, Franklin: Located on Cool Springs, The Sapphire Suite is a coworking space designed to help women find fulfillment, gain confidence, build lifelong relationships and become trailblazers. It offers multiple private rooms, meeting and content creation amenities, and a complimentary espresso bar, among other things.
Serendipity Labs, Brentwood: The serendipity in Serendipity Labs comes from the fact that tenants arrive seeking office space but end up with so much more. This workspace in Creekside Office Park offers a fitness facility, a lounge with a grab-and-go market, a courtyard and 24/7 on-site parking. There are a host of restaurants and retail establishments nearby, as well.
Cowork.Inc, Spring Hill: This locally owned, family-operated workspace specializes in providing a personal touch to its clients. In addition to offering business space and support, Cowork.Inc holds networking events, entrepreneur boot camps and even game nights. The company states that it follows the philosophy of Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy who said, “Why not your best?”
NolenSpot, Nolensville: Since 2019, this has been the spot for coworking space in Nolensville, with 25 individual offices, conference rooms and plenty of amenities. For companies with multiple employees, NolenSuites offers larger workspaces.
