Green River, WY

In the southwestern portion of Wyoming is Green River, home to a huge Green River Basin that contains the world’s largest deposits of trona ore used to make soda ash. Mining is the city’s largest industry, and good academic options are available through Sweetwater County School District #2 and Western Wyoming Community College. Residents celebrate Flaming Gorge Days during a weekend each June, and multiple fishing, hunting and hiking opportunities are available throughout Green River.
