With a reputation for being one of the most progressive communities in the southern U.S., Carrboro, N.C., continues to attract new residents. Some appealing factors include the city’s median family income of $80,000, a subtropical climate and several buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Carrboro Farmers Market serves as a popular gathering spot, and a large number of independent restaurants and art centers grace the landscape. The town is also known for an annual Carrboro Music Festival.
