Found halfway between Yellowstone Park and Mount Rushmore, Sheridan, Wyo., gives residents a picturesque community to live, work and play. Sheridan’s outdoor amenities, which include nine parks and many acres of open spaces, help make the city a vacation destination for outdoor enthusiasts. A collection of bike trails make Sheridan one of the best places to ride a bike. Each July, the community hosts an annual WYO Rodeo. Ten historic sites in Sheridan are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and the city is only a short distance from the Battle of Little Bighorn. Some of the best restaurants in Sheridan offer authentic western meals. Local education is provided by Sheridan County School District #2 along with Sheridan College. Sheridan also earned a spot on our Best Small Towns 2012 list.
