Tempe is a great college town – we named it the Best College Town in 2016 – and a big city suburb (Phoenix). What makes it even better? Climate – if you like hot, dry weather over the Chicago winters, then it’s better. Tempe is in the top 5 on this list for small business loans and health care coverage, and in the top 15 for per capita spending on food. We’ve twice named it a Top 100 Best Place to Live, as well as Best Beer City, a Top 10 Best Downtown, and one of the 10 Most Affordable Vacation Spots.
